    Detailed Description
    Statement
    Reference

dcoar/+ flies have a lengthened circadian period.

In constant darkness, dcoar/+ heterozygotes display a slightly longer period compared to wild type flies. Almost half of dcoEY02910/dcoar flies are arrhythmic, while most of the remainder show weak rhythms and a longer period.

Approximately 50% of dcoar/dcoVIII flies display locomotor arrhythmicity.

The eyes of dcoj3B9/dcoar transheterozygotes show mild planar cell polarity defects.

Unlike other dco mutant flies, dcoar homozygotes show an arrhythmic circadian locomotor activity. About 70% of homozygotes are viable. Heterozygotes show a strong semidominant period-lengthening, about 7% of flies are arrhythmic. About 2/3 of dcoar/dcoj3B9 flies are arrhythmic, the rest show a period-lengthening phenotype. Over 4/5 of dcoar/Df(3R)tll-g flies are arrhythmic, the rest show a period-lengthening phenotype.

    Statement
    Reference

Adult-specific expression (using TubGAL80ts) of larkScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 driven by Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf significantly lengthens circadian period in dcoar/+ flies; co-expression of larkdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cSb significantly shortens circadian period.

The addition of pers or perT to dcoj3B9/dcoar or Df(3R)tll-g/dcoar flies suppresses the arrhythmicity phenotype seen in these flies. The addition of timS1/tim01, tim01/+, or perSLIH does not suppress the dcoar/dcoj3B9 and dcoar/Df(3R)tll-g arrhythmic phenotypes.

    Xenogenetic Interactions
    Statement
    Reference

Expression of Hsap\CSNK1EScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PS fails to rescue the locomotor rhythm defects seen in dcoar/dcoVIII.

    Fails to complement
    Comments

Expression of dcoScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PS rescues the locomotor rhythm defects seen in dcoVIII/dcoar.
