Approximately 50% of dcoar/dcoVIII flies display locomotor arrhythmicity.

Flies expressing dcoScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PS in a dcoVIII mutant background display morphological abnormalities in wing angle and folding. Approximately 60% of flies cannot fold their wings properly and 80% are unable to vibrate their wings and fly. No locomotor rhythm defects are seen in these flies.

No locomotor rhythm defects are seen when flies expressing dcohs.PS in a dcoVIII mutant background are heat shocked. However when dcohs.PS is expressed in the absence of heat shock approximately 71% of viable flies are arrhythmic.

Short rhythm mutant.
