Insertion in a 5'UTR exon that is present in all dco isoforms.
Under conditions of total darkness (DD), more than half of dcoEY02910/dcoEY02910 flies are arrhythmic, and most of the remainder show weak rhythms and a longer period. In DD, a small percentage of dcoEY02910/dcoL flies are arrhythmic and have a slightly longer period and dcoEY02910/dcoS flies have a slightly shorter period compared to wild type. In DD, almost half of dcoEY02910/dcoar flies are arrhythmic, and most of the remainder show weak rhythms and a longer period.
Over-expression of dcoEY02910 reduces dendrite branching, and alters dendritic morphology in larval class IV sensory neurons (induced under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU). Total dendrite length is not significantly reduced in these neurons.
dcoEY02910 has abnormal locomotor rhythm phenotype, suppressible | partially by pers
Presence of pers does not rescue arrhythmicity of dcoEY02910 flies but shortens the period of weakly rhythmic dcoEY02910 flies.
dcoEY02910 is rescued by Scer\GAL4tim.PE, dcoEY02910
Scer\GAL4tim.PE driven expression of endogenous dco trapped by the EY insertion dcoEY02910 rescues defective locomotor rhythms in dcoEY02910/dcoEY02910 flies.
