The GMR sequence is an engineered transcription regulatory region composed of a pentamer of a truncated gl protein binding site that contains only the 29bp of sequence protected by the gl protein in a DNaseI footprinting assay (FBrf0075011). GMR sequences drive transcription in the developing eye in all cell types posterior to the morphogenetic furrow (FBrf0065382, FBrf0075011).
