Homozygous embryos have duplicated of the v'ch1 neurons.

The cell division index of homozygous female germline stem cell clones does not change under poor food conditions (in contrast to wild-type clones, where the cell division is dramatically reduced under poor food conditions).

In dap4 mutants, an S-phase can be aberrantly induced late in telophase in 100% of the pIIIb cells and 93% of the glial cells arising from the pIIb division.

Over 80% of dap4 mutant oocytes (from germ-line clones) enter endocycle and become polyploid. In over 50% of cases the extent of polyploidy makes the oocyte indistinguishable from nurse cells. In the remaining cases DNA content is somewhat lower than in nurse cells. In the cases where these mutant oocytes do not become obviously polyploid, karyosome formation is often aberrant. A small percentage of dap4 germ-line mutant egg chambers contain more than nurse cell like germ cells. Marker experiments show that oocyte specification occurs normally in dap4 germ-line clones, but that oocyte identity is not maintained in mutant oocytes that become polyploid. Consistent with this, yolk uptake is only seen in non-polyploid mutant oocytes.

Some branches of the tracheal system have nearly twice the normal number of tracheal cells in mutant embryos. Despite the increased cell number, primary branching occurs normally and branch sizes do not increase.

Homozygous dap4 mutant larvae exhibit overproliferation of the cells of the optic lobe. There is a significant increase in the number of mitotically active cells and breakdown of mitotic domains, as compared to wild type.s

One extra cycle of ectopic proliferation in the epidermis.

One copy of dap4 partially suppresses the wing hair spacing phenotype seen when Skp2KK108837 is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E.

Heterozygous dap4 restores cell and wing size in animals expressing Scer\GAL4en-e16E>Dcr-1GD11429.

The reduced cell division index of InRex52.1 female germline stem cell clones can be partially rescued by dap4/+.

dap4/+ suppresses the reduction of wing area phenotype seen in flies expressing pzgdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E.

dap4 does not protect Df(1)su(s)R194/+ clones in the eye; Df(1)su(s)R194/+ ; dap4 clones are not recovered in the adult eye in animals with mosaic eyes containing two genotypes of cells with respect to RpL36; cells which are Df(1)su(s)R194/+ and cells in which the haplo-insufficiency of Df(1)su(s)R194/+ for RpL36 has been rescued by RpL36+t4 (in a wild-type background the Df(1)su(s)R194/+ clones are eliminated by cell competition and are not seen in the adult eye in these animals). Also, dap4 does not prevent apoptosis of Df(1)su(s)R194/+ cells in the wing.

The mitotic embryonic phenotype of CycAC8LR1 single mutants, in which mitosis 16 does not occur, is not suppressed in dap4; CycAC8LR1 double mutants. However, the double mutants do enter another S phase after the stage at which mitosis occurs in equivalent wild-type embryos.

Expression of CycEScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4neur-P72, in a dap4/+ background, induces an S-phase in 100% of pIIIb cells and 35% of sibling glial cells.

Eye disc precluster cells mutant for both dap4 and Rbf14 continue to cycle instead of arresting. In addition, no G1 arrest occurs anterior to the morphogenetic furrow, all cells enter the second mitotic wave, and cells continue to cycle more posteriorly.

When dap4/+ and homozygous Dcr-1Q1147X are combined a partial rescue of the cyst production phenotype seen Dcr-1Q1147X mutants is seen.

Suppresses the rough eye phenotype of CycEJP homozygotes.
