lolal1122/lolalk02512, lolal1122/lolal1722 and lolal1122/Df(2R)Pcl11B transheterozygotes are lethal or near lethal, and lolal1122/lolalG9603 transheterozygotes are semi-lethal, as compared to controls, irrespective of the gender of each parental genotype; lolal1122/lolalk02512, lolal1122/lolalG9603 and lolal1122/Df(2R)Pcl11B transheterozygotes mainly die at the pupal stage.

Both the progeny from lolal1122/+ mothers and either lolalk02512/+, lolal1722/+ or lolalG9603/+ fathers, as well as the progeny from Df(2R)Pcl11B/+ mothers and lolal1122/+ fathers, exhibit embryo ventralization in a small proportion of cases, as compared to controls.

The fertilization of lolal1122 germline clone oocytes with sperm from lolal1722/+ leads to embryo ventralization in about half of the progeny, which is associated with full lethality of the resulting lolal1122/lolal1722 transheterozygotes.

The progeny from lolal1122/+ mothers and dpphr4/+ fathers present both embryo ventralization in less than half of cases and near lethality, as compared to controls; the ventralized phenotype is fully rescued by the maternal expression of tkvQ253D.Scer\UAS.P\T under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16, but only partially in the absence of the Gal4 driver, and is partially rescued by the maternal expression of either lolalScer\UAS.P\T.cQa, lolalScer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1, saxQ263D.Scer\UAS.cDa, MedScer\UAS.P\T.cSa or MedK738R.Scer\UAS.P\T, either under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 or in the absence of the Gal4 driver; the lethality is fully rescued by the maternal expression of either tkvQ253D.Scer\UAS.P\T or MedK738R.Scer\UAS.P\T, either under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 or in the absence of the Gal4 driver, is fully rescued by the maternal expression of either MedScer\UAS.P\T.cSa or TrlEY04024 under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16, but only partially rescued in the absence of the Gal4 driver, and is partially rescued by the maternal expression of either lolalScer\UAS.P\T.cQa, lolalScer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 or saxQ263D.Scer\UAS.cDa, either under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 or in the absence of the Gal4 driver.

The progeny from lolal1122/+ mothers and dpphr27/+ fathers exhibit lethality, which is partially rescued by the maternal expression of either lolalScer\UAS.P\T.cQa, lolalScer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1, tkvQ253D.Scer\UAS.P\T, saxQ263D.Scer\UAS.cDa, MedScer\UAS.P\T.cSa or MedK738R.Scer\UAS.P\T, either under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 or, to a lower extent, in the absence of the Gal4 driver; the progeny from lolal1122/+ mothers and either dpphr56/+ or dppe87/+ fathers exhibit semi-lethality and increased mortality, respectively, as compared to controls.
