Comment:

TER9426-8 is reported as a missense mutation that converts amino acid 450, glutamic acid, to alanine (IDAEV to IDAAV in the first ATPase motif. However this sequence of amino acids maps to 434 to 438 in the sequence (GB:AF202034) placing the mutation at amino acid 437.

Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

TER9426-8/+ mutant adults do not exhibit significant defects in phototaxis at 20 days of light exposure (dle), nor any defects in geotaxis at 20 or 30 dle, and display normal photoreceptor depolarization following light stimulation, as compared to controls.

Germline clones arrest early in oogenesis.

Statement
Reference

The small eye phenotype characteristic for adult flies expressing atlScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is significantly ameliorated by combination with a single copy of TER9426-8.

TER9426-8/+ partially suppresses the retinal degeneration and photoreceptor neuron loss after 30 days, but not after 20 days, of light exposure; rescues the visual processing defects after 20 days of light exposure; and rescues the photoreceptor depolarization defect seen in flies expressing ninaEP37H.

TER9426-8/+ partially suppresses the retinal degeneration, loss of photoreceptor neurons and fully suppresses the defective phototaxis seen in ninaED1/+ mutant flies.

Expression of ninaE+t2.747 in a TER9426-8/+ background does not result in defects in phototaxis or geotaxis after 20 or 30 days of light exposure, and does not result in a defect in photoreceptor depolarization after 30 or 45 days of light exposure, as compared to controls.
