Expression of brmK804R.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PU results in small and rough eye phenotype in adult flies.

Expression of brmK804R.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH results in small eye phenotype in adults.

Expression of brmK804R.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4wor.PA has no effect on neuroblast number.

Expression of brmK804R.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 via the Scer\GAL4en-e16E driver leads to a loss of the L5 wing vein and loss of the posterior cross vein.

Pupae expressing brmK804R.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4neur-GAL4-A101 contain variable-sized patches of tissue containing wild-type or defective sensory organ precursor (SOP) lineages. The defective SOP lineages contain fewer socket cells, fewer sheath cells and extra neurons.

Expression of brmK804R.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL469B at 18oC results in the loss of distal portions of wing vein L5 and deletion of the posterior crossvein.

Expression of brmK804R.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH results in a rough eye phenotype.

brmK804R.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 when driven by Scer\GAL4ey.PH produces flies with slightly smaller or rough eyes. A small percentage of these flies die as pharate adults.

Expression of brmK804R.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4h-1J3 or Scer\GAL4en-e16E has no effect on embryonic viability or segmentation. Expression of brmK804R.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 in imaginal tissues under the control of Scer\GAL469B causes greater than 99% lethality. At 25oC or higher, the majority of these animals pupate but fail to differentiate. Some flies expressing brmK804R.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL469B can survive to adulthood when raised at 20oC. These animals show partial transformation of first leg to second leg, as shown by a reduction in the number of sex comb teeth. These flies also show twinning of mechanosensory bristles. Wings are reduced in size, and the posterior crossvein and vein L5 are usually missing. Defects in the wing campaniform sensilla are also seen, including missing sensilla, duplication or triplication of sensilla, transformation of sensilla into bristles and the appearance of ectopic sensilla. Ectopic sensilla and bristles are most often seen on the L3 vein.
