Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Dominantly enhances position effect variegation (PEV) at the w locus caused by In(1)wm4, PEV at the B locus caused by Dp(1;Y)BSCV and PEV at the Sb locus caused by T(2;3)SbV.

More severe Asx phenotype than Asx- deletion and also a more severe transformation of thoracic segments towards abdominal segments. Segmentation defects are also present: missing segments, midline denticles missing and hemisegments. Hemizygous embryos have weak head and thoracic defects and weak abdominal homeotic transformations. Heterozygous adults have a mild transformation of A4 to A5 in males.

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Enhances the trx-G homeotic transformations of Df(3R)red1. Strongly enhances the extra sex comb phenotype of Pc4. Double heterozygotes with sxc3 show reduced viability and survivors show transformations typical of Pc-G mutants including transformation of A4 to A5. Most also show haltere to wing transformations typical of trx-G mutants.
