The accumulation of lipid droplets in glial cells in the vicinity of adult photoreceptor neurons expressing ND-42ninaE.GD6220 is not suppressed by Scer\GAL454C-driven (glial) expression of any of the following: SlnKK104306, SlnGD1940, outGD3448, outKK104187, shakBGD12666, shakBHMC04895, PdhaGD12103, PdhaKK101856 while expression of any of these transgenes - with the exception of shakBGD12666 and shakBHMC04895 - under the control of the neuronal Scer\GAL4elav.PLu driver efficiently rescues the phenotype. Expression of BsgGD989, BsgGD15718, LdhHMS00039, FatpKK104809, FatpHMC03111, FatpHMC03960 or FatpHMC04206 ameliorates the lipid accumulation in glial cells when driven by either Scer\GAL454C or Scer\GAL4elav.PLu. Glial (but not neuronal) knock-down of GLaz using GLazGD4806 or GLazKK106377 reduces the droplet build-up, while only the neuronal (and not glial) RNAi of NLaz using NLazGD12709 or NLazKK107553 does so.

The glial lipid droplets accumulation in ND-42ninaE.GD6220 flies is also lessened by combination with a single copy of either PdhaA, kdnA or GLazMI02243-TG4.0.

Statement
Reference

The amelioration of lipid droplet accumulation in glial cells in the retina of adult flies expressing ND-42ninaE.GD6220 observed upon combination with a single copy of GLazMI02243-TG4.0 is negated, to a varying extent (and the number of droplets significantly increased again), by Scer\GAL4GLaz-MI02243-TG4.0-driven (a driver inherent to the GLazMI02243-TG4.0 allele) expression of any of the following: Hsap\APOE2.C112.C158.UAS, Hsap\APOE3.C112.R158.UAS or Hsap\APOE4.R112.R158.UAS.
