Imprecise excision allele generated by mobilizing P{EPgy2}GaleEY22205, resulting in a partial excision that leaves around 1500 bp of P element sequence behind without further perturbation of the Gale sequences.
Galeh homozygous larvae exhibit uncoordinated and slower movements in righting assays, as compared to controls. Their neuromuscular junctions exhibit morphological and functional defects: there are significantly more synaptic boutons and looped boutons, but similar number of branches as controls; this is also a significant increase in excitatory junctional current amplitude (0.2 Hz frequency, 0.5 ms duration stimuli).
