stck3R-17/stck18 adults rescued by stckD303V.T:Zzzz\FLAG are recovered at 90% of the expected frequency. The rescued adults frequently have wing blisters and wings are often seen in a "held up" position.
Embryos expressing stckwt.T:Zzzz\FLAG in a stck3R-17/stck18 mutant background do not display any muscle structure or actin cytoskeleton defects.
Embryos expressing stckQ38A.T:Zzzz\FLAG in a stck3R-17/stck18 mutant background do not display any muscle structure or actin cytoskeleton defects.
stck18/Df(3R)097 embryos show a disruption in muscle fibre morphology; the muscles are less organised than normal and gaps are occasionally seen between adjacent muscle cells, indicating a failure of some muscle attachment sites. Early stage 17 mutant muscles have defects in actin filament organisation; the actin filament bundles of the myofibrils are buckled in appearance and often do not extend to the segment boundaries. In addition, many of the muscle attachments lack the enrichment of filamentous actin seen in wild-type animals.
stck[+]/stck18 is a suppressor of partially lethal - majority die | recessive phenotype of msn03349
stck[+]/stck18 is a suppressor of adult thorax phenotype of msn03349
stck[+]/stck18 is a suppressor of embryonic/first instar larval cuticle | dorsal phenotype of msn102
icsBG02577 has no effect on the viability of flies expressing stckwt.T:Zzzz\FLAG in a stck3R-17/stck18 mutant background.
The addition of icsBG02577 reduces the viability of flies expressing stckQ38A.T:Zzzz\FLAG in a stck3R-17/stck18 mutant background. Between 6 and 34% of the expected number of progeny are seen, with the majority of the lethality taking place during the larval and pharate stages. The rescued larvae display a range of sizes, including presumptive first instar larvae that appear stumpy, exhibit sluggish movement and do not progress in development.
Introduction of a single copy of stck18 into the homozygous msn102 background reduces the incidence of a 'dorsal open' phenotype from approximately 30% to approximately 20%.
Introduction of a single copy of stck18 into the homozygous msn03349 homozygous background reduces the incidence of eclosion from approximately 0% to approximately 15% and also suppresses the msn03349 thorax closure defect.

Expression of stckwt.T:Zzzz\FLAG rescues the embryonic and larval lethality seen in stck3R-17/stck18 mutants. The rescued flies do not display any overt phenotypes.
Expression of stckQ38A.T:Zzzz\FLAG rescues the embryonic and larval lethality seen in stck3R-17/stck18 mutants. The rescued flies are fertile and do not display either wing blisters or any other overt phenotypes.
