Myd88kra-56 mutants show only moderate loss of eve-positive neurons in the embryonic central nervous system (only significant for lateral and U/CQ eve[+] neurons) compared to controls.

Myd88kra-56/Df(2R)BSC279 mutant pupae display a significant increase in the number of apoptotic (Dcp-1-positive) cells in pupal ventral nerve cord. Myd88kra-56 homozygotes are semi-lethal with a lethality phase at pupariation, but the levels of cell death in the pupal ventral nerve cord are comparable to controls.

Weak allele. Embryos derived from females carrying homozygous germ line clones are dorsalised.

Embryos derived from females carrying homozygous germ line clones are partially dorsalised.

Embryos laid by homozygous Myd88kra-56 or Myd88kra-56/Myd88kra-1 mothers fail to gastrulate properly and die as hollow tubes of dorsal cuticle. The Filzkorper is present in these embryos.

The moderate loss of eve-positive neurons (from the lateral, EL, and U/CQ eve[+] clusters) in embryonic central nervous system characteristic for Myd88kra-56 mutants is not exacerbated by combination with two copies of either Toll-7P8 or Toll-626. However, in Myd88kra-56 Toll-7P8;Toll-626 triple mutant embryos the neuronal loss is enhanced further as in addition to loss of neurons from the EL+U/CQ clusters, the number of neurons in the aCC pCC and RP2 groups are also reduced compared to controls.

The increased cell death (number of apoptotic Dcp-1-positive cells) in the ventral nerve cord of pupae expressing either Toll-6C1020Y.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG or Ect4EP3610 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU can be increased further by Myd88kra-56 homozygosity.
