A mutant form of Hsap\APP which lacks the cytoplasmic tail (but contains the signal peptide, extracellular domain and βA4 region) tagged in the N-terminal region with Tag:MYC is expressed under the control of UASt regulatory sequences.

Males expressing Hsap\APP695ΔCT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4Gr33a-GAL4 show no difference in courtship intensity or preference for younger females as compared with controls.

Flies with Hsap\APP695ΔCT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC overexpressed by Scer\GAL4Appl.G1a do not have wing expansion defects.

Expression of Hsap\APP695ΔCT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC fails to induce cell death in the central nervous system (under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155), the developing eye (Scer\GAL4GMR.PF), thorax (Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237), and wing (Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1).

Expression of Hsap\APP695ΔCT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC in the central nervous system, under the control of Scer\GAL4Appl.G1a, does not alter levels of cell death nor locomotory ability.

Scer\GAL4ey-OK107>Hsap\APP695ΔCT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC male flies show normal learning in a conditioned courtship suppression assay (placed with a mated female for 60 minutes), with a significant drop (similar to wild type) in courtship index when comparing the first 10 minutes to the final 10 minutes. Two minutes after training, flies are placed with a virgin female and courtship is assessed for 10 minutes: trained controls show significantly reduced courtship index when compared to sham (untrained males), just like Scer\GAL4ey-OK107>Hsap\APP695ΔCT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC males (immediate-recall memory intact).

Expression of Hsap\APP695ΔCT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf has no significant effect on the axonal pattern of the s-LNv neurons either in third instar larval or in adult brains or on sleep pattern in adult flies.

Expression of Hsap\APP695ΔCT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC, under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf, does not induce a significant increase in axonal arborization of the sLNv.

When Hsap\APP695-Swedish.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4Appl.G1a or Scer\GAL4179Y no accumulation of organelles is seen in larval axons.

Flies expressing Hsap\APP695ΔCT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4Mz1087.hx do not have a wing blister phenotype.

Co-expression of Tip60Scer\UAS.cLa or Tip60E431Q.Scer\UAS does not affect learning but abolishes short-term memory of courtship suppression in Scer\GAL4ey-OK107>Hsap\APP695ΔCT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC males.

The defects in the axonal pattern of s-LNv neurons in brains characteristic for adult flies expressing Tip60E431Q.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf are not exacerbated by co-expression of Hsap\APP695ΔCT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC; flies co-expressing Tip60E431Q.Scer\UAS with Hsap\APP695ΔCT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC show reduction in nighttime sleep with concomitant increase in daytime sleep (also seen in flies expressing Tip60E431Q.Scer\UAS alone).

Simultaneous expression of Tip60Scer\UAS.cLa with Hsap\APP695ΔCT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC has no significant effect on the axonal pattern of the s-LNv neurons either in larval or in adult brains and it does not rescue but rather enhances the nighttime sleep deficit observed in flies expressing Tip60Scer\UAS.cLa alone.

The addition of Df(3L)GN24 to Hsap\APP695ΔCT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC, Scer\GAL4Appl.G1a larvae has no effect on the larval axons. The addition of roblK to Hsap\APP695ΔCT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC, Scer\GAL4Appl.G1a larvae has no effect on the larval axons.

Carried in a plasmid and transfected into SL-2 cells with a Scer\GAL4 expression plasmid. The expression and metabolism of Hsap\APP695ΔCT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC protein in these cells has been studied.
