Su(var)205unspecified suppresses the position effect variegation at the w locus which is caused by In(1)wm4.
Transheterozygotes show no lethality throughout normal larval development. The larvae continue as third instar larvae for several days longer than their heterozygous siblings, eventually dying as third instar larvae or (in some allelic combinations) as early pupae. Third instar larvae have reduced optic lobes in the larval brain and reduced or missing imaginal discs for most allelic combinations.
