This insertion does not appear to alter the size of the 2.6 kb w+ transcript in wzm and z wzm flies (Levis, O'Hare and Rubin, 1984). 6.0kb BEL insertion map site (kb): +3.43; Origin = insertion of wa copia; '-' values to left (telomere) end; '+' values to right (centromere) end.
No interaction with mutations of Rm62.
Eye colour: wild-type in z+ wzm male and z+ wzm/z+ wzm female. Eye colour: lemon yellow, in z1 wzm female at 25o-30oC. Eye colour: orange with red spots, in z1 wzm female at 14oC.
