AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.

Small FMRFa-derived neuropeptides identified by LC-MS/MS: DPKQDFMRF-amide, TPAEDFMRF-amide, SDNFMRF-amide, PDNFMRF-amide.
The 347 aa FMRFa propeptide contains 15 potential 9 amino acid amidated peptides.
This precursor includes 13 peptides that have FMRF or related sequences at their C-termini, and other putative neuropeptides.

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).
FMRFa protein is detected in fibers running dorsally and laterally on the fan-shaped body which seem to innervate layer 4. Co-localisation with ScerGAL4Gad1.3.098 is observed in a pair of neurons in the posterior lateral protocerebrum and often, another pair at the base of the optic lobes.
FMRFa is expressed in the peptidergic Tv neurons in the larval thoracic ventral nerve cord.
Co-localisation of FMRFa and ScerGAL4dimm-929 is observed in a subset of FMRFa-positive neurons of the central nervous system.
FMRFa protein was detected starting at embryonic stage 15 in some medial protocerebral neurons, followed by some subesophageal neuromeres at stage 16, and in more superior and medial protocerebral neurons at stage 17. Expression levels increased in larval stages.
Comment: DNa are found 15-30um anterior of DN1.

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.

Genetic and molecular analysis of the 46C-46D region suggests that Fmrf is not an essential gene.
The Fmrf peptides may play a number of functional roles, perhaps affecting both physiological and developmental phenomena.
Isolated from a genomic library using an Aplysia cDNA encoding most of the FMRFamide coding region as a probe.
Fmrf encodes multiple copies of related neuropeptides within a single precursor protein.
Encodes the precursor polypeptide that is processed to generate a nonapeptide, DPKQDFMRFamide, that shares homology with the FMRFamide neuropeptide from molluscs. Gene appears to be expressed from late embryogenesis through the adult stage (see also White, Hurteau and Punsal, 1986).
