Lethality of Hsepid12 homozygotes (18.3%) is equivalent to that of their deficiency transheterozygotes (Hsepid12/Df(2R)cn88b; 19.3%), indicating that this is a null allele.

Hsepid12 adult survivors show only modest morphological phenotypes, such as extra vein materials at the posterior crossvein region of the wing. The penetrance of this phenotype is 25% in males and 90% in females. This phenotype is also observed in Hsepid12/Hsepid13 transallelic mutants.

Despite the relatively normal development and fertility of Hsepid12 adult survivors, the longevity of mutant adults is remarkably shorter than wild-type. The median of adult longevity of Hsepid12 mutants is 27 days, whereas it is 63 days in wild-type.

Hsepid12 mutant ovarioles show the same number of stalk cells as in wild-type.

The overall morphology of Hsepid12 mutant testes is normal.

No abnormality is observed in longitudinal wing vein structures of Hsepid12 homozygous mutant flies.

No defects are found in tracheoblasts in Hsepid12 mutant wing discs.

Hs2std267 Hsepid12 double mutants exhibit an ovariole stalk cell phenotype similar to that in Hs2std267 single mutants.

A heterozygous dallygem mutant in a Hsepid12 homozygous background results in a decreased number of chemosensory bristles.

A heterozygous dlp1 or Sdc48 background does not result in a decreased number of chemosensory bristles in Hsepid12 homozygous mutants.

Hsepid12; dallygem double mutants are lethal.

Heterozygous sfl03844 mutants in a Hsepid12 mutant background exhibit truncation of the longitudinal vein L5.

Hsepid12/Hsepid12; Hs6std770/+ mutants show a reduction of the wing vein L5.

Knockdown of Hs6st through expression of Hs6stGD3078 under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS at 25[o]C in a Hs2std267 Hsepid12 double mutant background severely interferes with tracheoblast formation.

Knockdown of Hs6st through expression of Hs6stGD3078 under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS at 25[o]C in a Hsepid12 mutant background severely interferes with tracheoblast formation
