The size of Taoeta mutant intestinal stem cell clones is increased compared to controls.

Homozygous follicle cell clones produce defects in the follicular epithelium. During stage 8/9, homozygous cells in the anterior follicular epithelium fail to stretch and stay cuboidal, in contrast to wild type. Posterior clones show milder defects, showing an increase in the length of the lateral membrane compared to wild type.

The failure of anterior follicle cells in homozygous Taoeta stage 9 follicle cell clones to stretch is suppressed in approximately 50% of cases if the clones are also expressing Fas2KK100888 under the control of Scer\GAL4GR1.

The failure of anterior follicle cells in homozygous Taoeta stage 9 follicle cell clones to stretch is not suppressed if the clones are also expressing crbGD14463 under the control of Scer\GAL4GR1.

Expression of TaoScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU rescues the lethality of Taoeta homozygotes.

Expression of either TaoScer\UAS.cGa or TaoScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4GR1 rescues the defects in follicle epithelium morphology seen in homozygous Taoeta follicle cell clones.

Large follicle cell clones doubly homozygous for Taoeta and Fas2EB112 show cell lethality, while small follicle cell clones doubly homozygous for Taoeta and Fas2EB112 can be recovered in stage 8/9 egg chambers. Anterior follicle cells in these small clones stretch normally.
