All surviving male flies expressing TrlHsp83.GAGA-581 in a Trl109.2/TrlR67 mutant background show a transformation of the sixth abdominal segment towards the fifth.

Trl109.2/TrlR67 mutant females expressing four copies of TrlHsp83.GAGA-581 exhibit egg laying defects, laying approximately 12 eggs per 24 hours, compared to around 25 in wild type.

Approximately 40% of embryos produced by Trl109.2/TrlR67 mutant females expressing four copies of TrlHsp83.GAGA-581 are able to hatch. None of the embryos show any defects in nuclear division and the nuclear monolayer is intact.

Approximately 20% of surviving male flies expressing TrlHsp83.GAGA-519 in a Trl109.2/Trl18.1 mutant background show a transformation of the sixth abdominal segment towards the fifth.

Trl109.2/Trl18.1 mutant females expressing four copies of TrlHsp83.GAGA-519 exhibit egg laying defects, laying approximately 12 eggs per 24 hours, compared to around 25 in wild type.

Approximately 70% of embryos produced by Trl109.2/Trl18.1 mutant females expressing four copies of TrlHsp83.GAGA-519 are able to hatch.

Expression of one or two copies of TrlHsp83.GAGA-519 has no effect on the lethality associated with Trl109.2/Trl18.1 mutants. However expression of four copies is able to partially rescue the phenotype, with 10% of flies surviving.

Expression of two copies of TrlHsp83.GAGA-519 and two copies of TrlHsp83.GAGA-581 partially rescues the lethality associated with Trl109.2/Trl18.1 mutants, with approximately 40% of flies surviving.
