Expression of trcT453A.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 results in a multiple wing hair phenotype. On average, 1.5-4 hairs per cell are produced but many cells still produce a single hair. Expression of trcT453A.Scer\UAS in the notum, driven by either Scer\GAL4ap-md544 or Scer\GAL4neur-P72 results in split or branched bristles, particularly on the abdomen, and in deformed bristles that are short, fat, bent, and twisted.

Coexpression of trcL.Scer\UAS with trcT453A.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544, largely rescues the wing hair and bristle defects seen when trcT453A.Scer\UAS is expressed alone.

Expression of trcT453A.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 or Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 results in a multiple wing hair phenotype.

A fry1/+ background enhances the multiple wing hair phenotype of flies that express trcT453A.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544.

The following genetic backgrounds enhance the splitting wing hair phenotype of flies that express trcT453A.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 : Rac1J11/+, Rac1EY05848/+, Rho1E3.10/+, Cdc422/+ and bsk2/+.

Coexpression of Rho1N19.Scer\UAS and trcT453A.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 induces synthetic lethality.

Coexpression of the dominant negative RalaS25N.Scer\UAS with trcT453A.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544, leads to a complete suppression of the trcT453A.Scer\UAS phenotype. In contrast, coexpression of the constitutively active RalaG20V.Scer\UAS transgene with trcT453A.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544, results in a dramatic enhancement of the multiple wing hair phenotype.

Coexpression of GrafdsRNA.Scer\UAS greatly enhances the Scer\GAL4ap-md544>trcT453A.Scer\UAS multiple wing hair phenotype.

A vimark16722 background partially suppresses the multiple wing hair phenotype seen when trcT453A.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544.

The multiple wing hair phenotype that is caused by expression of trcT453A.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 is enhanced by a deficiency for one of mats, Mob2, Mob3 or Mob4.

The multiple wing hair phenotype that is caused by expression of trcT453A.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 is dominantly enhanced by wts3-17, matse235 or matse03077, but not by matsPBrv.

The multiple wing hair phenotype that is caused by expression of trcT453A.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 is partially suppressed by co-expression of matsScer\UAS.cLa.

The multiple wing hair phenotype that is caused by expression of trcT453A.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 or Scer\GAL4ap-md544 is enhanced by co-expression of Mob2C.Scer\UAS.
