Description

Mutation in mip130 resulting in a new BamHI site 45 nucleotides from the start codon. The mutant allele is expected to produce a 36 amino acid protein, of which the last 21 amino acids are not mip130 sequence.

Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Embryos derived from females carrying homozygous mip1301-36 germline clones crossed to wild type males are able to hatch at a similar rate to wild type.

Mutant animals are smaller than wild-type and are unhealthy. Mutant females produce eggs that are flaccid and have thin eggshells. Very few larvae hatch.

Reference

Homozygous mip1301-36 suppresses the eye phenotypes seen in lin-5293 mutant eye clones. The mutant tissue appears completely normal.

Homozygous mip1301-36 suppresses the eye phenotypes seen in MybMH107, lin-5293 double mutant clones. The resulting triple mutant eyes appear completely normal.

Approximately 29% of embryos derived from females carrying homozygous lin-5293 mip1301-36 double mutant germline clones crossed to wild type males are able to hatch, a partial suppression of the phenotype seen when females are maternally mutant for lin-5293 alone.
