Expression of Mmp2Scer\UAS.cPa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU does not lead to a significant decrease in the migration velocity of embryonic cardioblasts, nor the number of lamellipodia at the cardioblast leading edge, but the number of filopodia at the leading edge shows a small but significant decrease, the regular cardioblast alignment is disrupted, and multiple ectopic lumens form at the heart proper region, as compared to wild type.
In females with expression of Mmp2Scer\UAS.cPa driven by Scer\GAL4GMR47A04, mature eggs rupture and most lack covering follicle cells.
