Expression of ttvScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4 has little effect on germ cell migration in embryos.

Expression of ttvScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 results in germ cell migration defects in embryos; most of the germ cells are scattered in the posterior of the embryo and fail to coalesce with the somatic gonadal precursor cells. In a subset of embryos germ cells are clustered in the middle of the embryo, resulting in three germ cell clusters; two in the appropriate location on either side of the embryo in parasegment 10 and an additional cluster more anteriorly.

Expression of ttvScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4wg.PM results in germ cell migration defects in embryos.

Expression of ttvScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu results in germ cell migration defects in embryos. A significant number of germ cells that do not coalesce with the somatic gonadal precursor cells are found proximal to either the central nervous system or the ventral nerve cord.

Expression of ttvScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4h-1J3 results in a variety of germ cell migration defects in embryos. In approximately half the embryos, germ cells are seen in the vicinity of parasegments 10-12 but fail to coalesce with the somatic gonadal precursor cells. In approximately one quarter of the embryos germ cells are scattered widely throughout the embryos and in the remaining embryos there is a "pseudogonad"-like assembly in the middle of the embryo.

Expression of ttvScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC with Scer\GAL4G14 leads to rescue of ttv00681b mutant larvae to adulthood or late pupal stages. The number of boutons per unit muscle area and bouton budding are increased to normal levels.

Expression of ttvScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC with Scer\GAL4elav-C155 improves viability of ttv00681b mutant larvae. The number of boutons per unit muscle area are increased to normal levels while bouton budding is elevated above wild-type levels.

Expression of ttvScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC with Scer\GAL4da.G32 fails to improve viability of ttv00681b mutant larvae but rescues the abnormally elevated mEJP frequency (but not the EJP amplitude) found in these larvae. The number of boutons relative to muscle area is significantly reduced compared with ttv00681b mutants.

ttvScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC with Scer\GAL4wg.PM completely rescues the cuticle phenotype of ttv00681b germ-line clone embryos.

Rescues the segment polarity phenotype of ttvunspecified embryos.
