The penetrance of ectopic eye induction in eyaS-A.Scer\UAS; Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 flies is reduced from 42% (n=306) to 13% (n=310) by heterozygosity for rlS-135 (data from a single, 'strong' P{UAS-eyaS-A} insertion). The penetrance of ectopic eye induction in eyaS-A.Scer\UAS; Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 flies is reduced from 42% (n=306) to 20% (n=304) by heterozygosity for eyaG130 (data from a single, 'strong' P{UAS-eyaS-A} insertion). The proportion of eyaScer\UAS.cHa; Scer\GAL4dpp.PH flies with blistered wings (76%) is decreased by heterozygosity for rlS-135 to 10%, while the proprotion with only mild wing defects is increased from 24% to 90%. (All data from experiments with a single, 'strong' P{UAS-eya.H} insertion; n=approximately 300 in each case).
Double heterozygotes rlS-135/PTP-ERhs.sev give a stronger eye phenotype than PTP-ERhs.sev alone.
