Embryos derived from homozygous germline clones show defects dissimilar to those caused by defective tor signalling: anterior head skeleton and filzkorper are frequently absent, though segmentation is also severely disrupted.

The formation of multiple R7 cells in flies carrying rl^D334N.hs.sev is suppressed in a lilli^3E8 clone. The loss of photoreceptors seen in phl¹²/Y flies is further enhanced by the addition of lilli^3E8 clones in the eye.

Dominantly suppresses the rough eye phenotype of phl::tor^12D.hs.sev. Clones in a sev^{S11.T:Hsap\MYC} or Ras85D^V12 background reveal suppression of the extra, but not the endogenous, R7 cells.
