    rSu(b).cSa suppresses the bunspecified body colour phenotype resulting in a brownish cuticle.

    CRMPsupA4 disrupts the suppression of the body colour phenotype of bunspecified mutants by rSu(b).cSa.

    Embryos that are homozygous for fs(1)pyrSu(b) rSu(b) and bunspecified and originate from a female homozygous for these 3 mutations show reduced viability; most progeny die at early developmental stages. Embryos that are homozygous for fs(1)pyrSu(b) rSu(b)DK7 and bunspecified and originate from a female homozygous for these 3 mutations show severely reduced viability. Newly laid eggs begin development normally, and early embryogenesis proceeds normally through the syncytial blastoderm, gastrulation and extended germ band stages. Abnormalities such as shrinkage of the embryo and lack of muscle contraction are seen near the end of embryogenesis and the majority of embryos die just before the eggs are due to hatch.

    The bunspecified black body colour phenotype is suppressed by rSu(b).cSa but not by rcSa, rSE.cSa or rSA.cSa.

    rSu(b) bunspecified flies retain wild-type body colour in the presence of 6-azathymine.
