Description

Transposition of jockey and 1.8kb of the sc gene (which contains an enhancer responsible for the development of anterior notopleural bristles) from scD1 into the gypsy element present at the y locus in y2. A small fragment of the gypsy sequence, including the su(Hw) binding region, has been deleted and replaced with the inserted sequence. Insertion into y is in opposite orientation to that of y2#+9.
