Detailed Description

More than 90% of flies lack the anterior notopleural, postvertical, ocellar, scutellar and anterior orbital bristles. The humeral, presutural, anterior postalar, anterior supraalar, posterior postalar and posterior supraalar bristles are present.

More than 90% of scD1 flies lack the anterior orbital, post-vertical, ocellar and anterior notopleural bristles. The flies have one scutellar bristle.

Anterior notopleural bristle formation is blocked.

Phenotype can be suppressed by strong su(Hw) alleles, or weak su(Hw) alleles in combination with mod(mdg4)ul. mod(mdg4)ul has a partial suppressing effect alone.

Homozygous females show a loss of tergite chaetae.

The presence of sc[D1] in y2 scD1/y59b flies abolishes interallelic complementation. y2 scD1/y59b females show weak pigmentation of the body and wings.

The presence of sc[D1] in y2 scD1/y1#8 flies abolishes interallelic complementation. y2 scD1/y1#8 females show weak pigmentation of the body and wings.

The scD1 bristle phenotype is partially suppressed by mod(mdg4)ul.
