pll7/pll2 and pll7/pll25 larvae show show mistargeting of the R2-R5 photoreceptor axons in the developing visual system; thickened bundles of axons along the entire length of the lamina are observed to penetrate into the medulla, while the lamina is not smooth and is somewhat irregular.

The ability of pll7/pll2 larvae to encapsulate L.boulardi eggs is significantly reduced compared to that of control larvae.

Homozygous and pll7/pll25 larvae have significantly higher levels of muscle defects than wild-type larvae.

Embryos from mutant mothers develop only dorsal epidermis.

Homozygotes and heterozygotes with Df(3R)R38.3 have a completely dorsalised phenotype and a stronger dorsalised phenotype when heterozygous with pll16.

Embryos derived from homozygous females are dorsalised.

dppHin embryos derived from pll7 mothers have a dorsalizing phenotype: dorsal setae covering the entire body, rudimentary posterior spiracles lacking Filzkorper and numerous ventral like setae. Individuals have an elongated and convoluted appearance.

The variable dorsalized embryonic phenotype of wekEX14 mutants is enhanced by pll7. While 51% of wekEX14 embryos show an extreme dorsalized phenotype, this penetrance is increased to 92% in wekEX14; pll7/+ embryos.

Double mutant combinations with eaD1 are strongly dorsalized.
