Hph02255/+ partially suppresses the increase in size of ommatidia and interommatidial bristles seen in seen in the eyes of Cdk4Scer\UAS.cMa; CycDScer\UAS.cDa; Scer\GAL4GMR.PF flies. FACS analysis of dissociated eye discs from Cdk4Scer\UAS.cMa; CycDScer\UAS.cDa; Scer\GAL4GMR.PF indicates that Scer\GAL4 expressing cells are larger than non-expressing and a decreased proportion are in S-phase. The increase in cell size, but not the reduction in S-phase, is partially suppressed by Hph02255/+.

Clones of cells in the wing disc co-expressing Mmus\Ccnd1Scer\UAS.cDa and Hsap\CDK4Scer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP show a 60-70% increase in median clone size compared to wild-type controls. Hph02255/+ suppresses this phenotype.
