Drives expression in scolopidial neurons from late embryogenesis through adulthood, in Johnson organ neurons, in GABAergic local interneurons of the antennal lobe, and in the neurons of a number of larval, pupal and adult external sensory organs.

Expression of ScerGAL4nan.PK is seen in cell bodies found in the local interneuron cluster located lateral and dorsolateral to the antennal lobe. Most labelled cells are ipsilaterally projecting interneurons.

ScerGAL4nan.PK drives expression in mostly GABAergic antennal lobe local interneurons, and in a subset of olfactory receptor neurons.

Reporter expression is observed in ~27-37 neurons of the third antennal segment that are arranged similarly to the basiconic sensilla. nan-expressing neurons have a single long dendrite that seems to extend into basiconic sensilla. The antennal nerve termini labelled in nan reporter lines projected into a region of the brain similar to that marked by a nompC reporter, namely the AMMC (antennal mechanosensory and motor center).

ScerGAL4nan.PK drives expression in the scolopidial neurons in embryos and adults. In embryos, expression is visible in the dorsal, lateral and ventral chordotonal organs. In adults, ScerGAL4nan.PK labels the ciliary outer segment of the Johnston organ neurons in the second segment of the antenna and the femoral chordotonal organ in the leg.
