Definition Johnston organ neuron that innervates zone B of the antennal mechanosensory and motor center (AMMC). The cell bodies of these neurons are distributed as a ring in the middle layer of cells within the Johnston organ (Kamikouchi et al., 2006). These neurons respond to vibrations and are activated when stimulated with courtship pulse song, with greater activation at lower frequency (Kamikouchi et al., 2009).[ FlyBase:FBrf0194812 FlyBase:FBrf0207518 ]
