L83P
Site of nucleotide substitution in mutant inferred by FlyBase based on reported amino acid change.
10% of homozygotes survive to adulthood at 25[o]C, and 20% survive at 18[o]C. Homozygous and Rpp3018.2/Rpp30k01901 flies are normal in size.
Homozygous ovaries are rudimentary due to oogenesis arrest at an early stage of development. Homozygous clones in the germline result in egg chambers that arrest as early as in homozygous mutant ovaries, whereas egg chambers in which all follicle cells are homozygous develop normally.
Egg chambers containing coconut18.2 mutant germline clones arrest oogenesis at stage 4-5. In some cases the oocyte is mislocalised within the egg chamber. Oogenesis arrests slightly earlier in homozygous coconut18.2 mutant escapers.
Rpp3018.2 has sterile phenotype, non-suppressible by p5311-1B-1

Rpp3018.2 has egg chamber phenotype, suppressible by lokp6
Some egg chambers are found developing to late stages of oogenesis or even forming eggs in Rpp3018.2 ; p5311-1B-1 double mutant females. This rescue is partial, as the majority of egg chambers are still arrested early and the flies are still sterile.
Most egg chambers develop into eggs in Rpp3018.2 ; lokp6 double mutant females, and these eggs can be laid and fertilised.
