Expression of Hsap\MYCScer\UAS.S under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E has no effect on the overall size of the posterior wing compartment, but cell number is reduced and the size of the cells is increased.

Females expressing Hsap\MYCScer\UAS.S under the control of Scer\GAL4dm-PG45 are viable.

Clones in the wing disc expressing two copies of Hsap\MYCScer\UAS.S under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP show an increase in cell size and a reduction in the fraction of cells in G[[1]] with a concomitant increase in cells in S or G[[2]] phase compared to controls. The clones do not show detectable levels of apoptosis.

Expression of Hsap\MYCScer\UAS.S under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 does not induce apoptosis in the wing disc.

Expression of Hsap\MYCScer\UAS.S partially suppresses the growth phenotypes seen in the wings and bristles of flies expressing Hsap\TGIF2LXScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E or Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 respectively.

Expression of Hsap\MYCScer\UAS.S under the control of Scer\GAL4dm-PG45 partially rescues the lethality of dmPG45 males. Surviving adult males are fertile, but have thin bristles. The size of the wings and of the wing cells is reduced approximately 15% compared to wild type.

The reduced size of homozygous dmPG45 clones in the imaginal disc is partially suppressed if the clones are expressing Hsap\MYCScer\UAS.S under the control of Scer\GAL4dm-PG45 (the double mutant clones are approximately 70% the size of the wild-type twin spots).
