Site of nucleotide substitution in mutant inferred by FlyBase based on reported amino acid change.
Homozygous clones cannot be recovered in the adult eye at 29[o]C (they undergo apoptosis). However, despite the absence of mutant clones, these eyes are often larger than normal and contain folds, indicating overgrowth. Third larval instar discs are overgrown in mosaic animals raised at 29[o]C.
Homozygous clones in the eye disc suppress most normal developmental cell death in pupal eye discs at 28 hours after puparium formation, when raised at 25[o]C. Homozygous clones in eye imaginal discs raised at 29[o]C are highly apoptotic. Cell proliferation is strongly reduced within the clones, but is significantly increased in cells adjacent to the clones.

The small eye phenotype caused by WGMR.PG is moderately strongly suppressed by inducing homozygous Uba1D6 clones in the eye. A reduction in apoptotic cell death is seen in the double mutant eye discs compared to WGMR.PG single mutants, with the suppression occurring in a region specific manner.
The eye overgrowth phenotype seen in Uba1D6 mosaics raised at 29[o]C is dominantly suppressed by Stat92E85C9 and by N264-39.
