Expression of HP1b^KK108772 under the control of either Scer\GAL4^nub.PK or Scer\GAL4^en.PU results in ectopic veins and notched wings. Expression controlled by either Scer\GAL4^ey.PH or Scer\GAL4^GMR.PF has no overt adult phenotype, Scer\GAL4^Act5C.PI-driven expression is lethal.

The various wing defects induced by expression of HP1b^KK108772 under the control of Scer\GAL4^nub.PK or Scer\GAL4^en.PU are both enhanced and suppressed by co-expression of htt^GD14943 - the ectopic venation phenotype is enhanced while the wing notches are suppressed. The wing vein defects observed upon Scer\GAL4^nub.PK- or Scer\GAL4^en.PU-driven expression of HP1b^KK108772 are also enhanced by combination with htt^int.
