Expression of Sin3AdsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ under the control of any one of Scer\GAL4A9, Scer\GAL4vg.M.Exel, Scer\GAL4rn-GAL4-DeltaS or Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096-KE results in a curly wing phenotype.
Expression of Sin3AdsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E results in incomplete L5 wing vein. Curly wing is observed only in the posterior compartment when Sin3AdsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E.
Expression of Scer\GAL4Ser.PGF>Sin3AdsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ results in smaller wing imaginal discs and smaller adult wings compared with wild-type. In flies carrying Scer\GAL4Ser.PGF>Sin3AdsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ wing discs are 5% smaller than wild-type. Adult wings expressing Sin3AdsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ are reduced in size relative to control wings due to reduced cell number.

Expression of Sin3AdsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096-KE leads to a reduction in the number of mitotic cells present in wing imaginal dis tissue. Compared with controls, the number of cells in S phase is not altered following Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096-KE>Sin3AdsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ expression.
Temperature shift experiments in which expression of Sin3AdsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB is induced using heat shock show that expression of Sin3AdsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ during the first or second larval instar results in lethality before the wandering third instar, while expression of Sin3AdsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ in wandering third instar larvae or pupae has no effect on viability. The dead larvae have no gross phenotypic abnormalities.
