Affected Genes Inferred by Location (0)
If no genes are listed here, it may be because the affected region is very large. The JBrowse insert above may show an error for the same reason, and other FlyBase tools such as CytoSearch may also fail for large regions. You can contact FlyBase for more help.
In this case, the "Export to Hitlist" button at left will also be disabled.
    Phenotypic Data
    In combination with other aberrations
NOT in combination with other aberrations

The Df(3L)iro-2 chromosome does not act as a dominant suppressor of telomeric silencing (assayed using the effect of the chromosome on the eye colour phenotype of flies carrying "P{wvar}KR3-2", a stable "brown-red" variant of the P{3'WP-2,wvar}2Lt insertion).

Heterozygosity for Df(3L)iro-2 results in 8.5% X chromosome nondisjunction and 3.4% fourth chromosome nondisjunction in In(1)FM7/X ; svspa-pol females.

Homozygous embryos have normal gut morphology.

In female D.simulans/D.melanogaster hybrids heterozygous for Df(3L)iro-2 the anterior notopleural bristle, presutural bristle, posterior notopleural bristle, anterior postalar bristle, posterior dorsocentral bristle, anterior dorsocentral bristle, and the posterior postalar bristle are lost at a high frequency compared to female D.simulans/D.melanogaster hybrid controls, when grown at 25oC. At 18oC only the posterior supraalar bristle and the anterior supraalar bristle are affected.

    Homozygous lethal.
