The expression of Tip60HM05049 under the control of Scer\GAL4NP1624 leads to testes showing increased numbers of cyst stem cells (Zfh-1-positive cells), associated with cyst stem cell differentiation defects, as illustrated by a high proportion of cells abnormally co-expressing Zfh-1 (marker of cyst stem cells/early cyst cells) and Eya (marker of later stage cyst cells). About half of testes also show germ cell expansion, with some testes also showing structures that resemble stem cell, GB and spermatogonial tumors. Additionally, some testes show cells expressing both germ cell markers (Vasa) and cyst cell markers (Zfh-1 or Yan).

Expression of Tip60HM05049 under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16, Scer\GAL4nos.PG and Scer\GAL4otu.T:Hsim\VP16 causes significantly decreased female fertility, with germline development in the germarium appearing normal, but later stage egg chambers appearing defective, as compared to controls.

Expression of Tip60HM05049 under the control of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16 does not affect the development of the germarium or ovariole, but results in a significant proportion of eggs showing the 'dumpless' egg phenotype, as shown by defective late stage egg chambers with short eggs and non-fragmented nurse cells, and a significant reduction in egg-laying, as compared to controls.

The co-expression of Hsap\HOXA9::Hsap\NUP98WT.UAS and Tip60HM05049 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH leads to ectopic wing-like structures in the dorsal-anterior part of the eye.

The wing nicking phenotype caused by expression of domdsRNA.Sym.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4bbg-C96 is enhanced if the flies are also co-expressing Tip60HM05049.
