      Animals expressing vg5XQE.cZa (generated by germ-line excision of the Scer\FRT cassette in the vgScer\FRT.CD2.5XQE progenitor allele) show larval lethality.

      vg5XQE.cZa clones induced in first instar larvae result in late larval or pupal lethality.

      Early induced vg5XQE.cZa expressing clones in the wing disc are associated with abnormal, cell-autonomous expansion of prospective wing tissue.
