Expression of CtBPGSA396 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PU leads to small and rough eyes with duplications of interommatidial bristles; occasional splitting of the eye field, sometimes accompanied by formation of antennal-like structures in the cuticular field between eye domains; apparent clefts in the vertex region of the head with loss of ocelli and mispatterning of bristles; loss of vibrissae and replacement by bristles resembling orbital or vertical bristles; and extra orbital bristles surrounded by a patch of orbital-like cuticle; and in few animals loss of distal antennal structures when compared to controls.
