Expression of dcoScer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev, results in planar polarity defects in the eye. A small percentage of ommatidia in eyes of this genotype show a change in photoreceptor number.

Expression of dcoScer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 in the wing causes a mild planar cell polarity defect visible as a characteristic hair swirl near the intersection of the dpp expression stripe and the wing margin. These wings also show a small increase in the number of margin bristles.

Co-expression of dcoScer\UAS.cKa significantly suppresses circadian rhythm defects in flies with larkdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cSb driven by Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf in a lark1/+ background.

Conditional adult-specific co-expression (using TubGAL80ts) of dcoScer\UAS.cKa (but not dcoD132N.Scer\UAS) results in arrhythmicity in flies with expression of larkScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 driven by Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf.

The wing nicking phenotype caused by expression of domdsRNA.Sym.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4bbg-C96 is enhanced if the flies are also co-expressing dcoScer\UAS.cKa.

Coexpression of fz1-1-1.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC and dcoScer\UAS.cKa, under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1, results in an enhancement of both the planar cell polarity defects seen when only fz1-1-1.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC is expressed and an increase number of ectopic wing margin bristles produced relative to when only dcoScer\UAS.cKa is expressed.

Co-expression of fz22-2-2.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC and dcoScer\UAS.cKa, under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1, is lethal when animals are raised at 25oC. However, these animals are viable at 18oC but show an increase in the number of ectopic wing margin bristles relative to expression of fz22-2-2.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC alone.

Expression of dcoScer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev in a dsh3/+ background completely suppresses the planar cell polarity and photoreceptor number phenotypes seen when dcoScer\UAS.cKa is expressed in a wild-type background.
