    Detailed Description

    Reference

Expression of RhebEP50.084 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP increases cell size.

Overexpression of RhebEP50.084 results in an increase in TR-avidin endocytic internalisation.

RhebEP50.084; Scer\GAL4GMR.PF animals exhibit eye overgrowth. Ommatidia in Scer\GAL4GMR.PF/+; RhebEP50.084/+ flies are disorganized, and are on average 1.43 times the size of wild-type ommatidia.

    Reference

Co-expression of RhebEP50.084 does not suppress the ability of AcnScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4Lsp2.PH to induce autolysosome formation in the fat body in the absence of starvation.

Expression of RhebEP50.084 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP increases cell size, and this increase is also observed in the presence of Pi3K59FKD.Scer\UAS.

The large size and disorganisation of ommatidia in Scer\GAL4GMR.PF/+; RhebEP50.084/+ flies is unaffected by PtenScer\UAS.cGb. The large size and disorganisation of ommatidia in Scer\GAL4GMR.PF/+; RhebEP50.084/+ flies is largely suppressed by Tsc1Scer\UAS.cTa with gigScer\UAS.cTa (ommatidial are = 0.95 of wild-type size and are only slightly disorganised. The large size and disorganisation of ommatidia in Scer\GAL4GMR.PF/+; RhebEP50.084/+ flies is unaffected by Akt11/Akt13. The large size and disorganisation of ommatidia in Scer\GAL4GMR.PF/+; RhebEP50.084/+ flies is suppressed by S6kl-1/S6kl-1. The large size and disorganisation of ommatidia in Scer\GAL4GMR.PF/+; RhebEP50.084/+ flies is partially dominantly suppressed by Tor2L1 (ommatidia are 1.27 times wild-type size, and slightly disorganised). This suppression is stronger when one the flies are also heterozygous for S6kl-1 (ommatidia 1.16 times wild-type size, and not disorganised).

The "EP50.084" chromosome carries a closely linked lethal factor that cannot be reverted by mobilisation of the P{EP.Scer\UAS(loxP.Scer\UAS.y+).BN} element.
