Detailed Description
Statement

trold8 mutants exhibit more compact looking imaginal discs, with sections showing elongation of cells in the apico-basal axis. in addition, the central nervous system shows signs of hyper-constriction, with vesicles of tissue herniating from the ventral nerve cord.

Explanted trold8/trold8 larval brains show reduced levels of neuroblast proliferation.

23% of trold8 brains show defective larval neuroblast proliferation.

Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

trold8/trold8; larvae, heterozygous for hh2or hhAC have reduced numbers S phase neuroblasts per brain lobe compared to trold8 homozygotes.

The proliferation defect seen in trold8 animals is enhanced by one copy of eve3; 88% of animals show defective proliferation.
