Overexpression of POSHScer\UAS.cSa in the eye disc (under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF) produces a rough eye phenotype.

Animals over-expressing POSHScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 die as embryos with severe dorsal closure defects.

Approximately 18% of the embryos over-expressing POSHScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 display germ-ban retraction defects.

Approximately 15% of the embryos over-expressing POSHScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU display germ-ban retraction defects.

Approximately 72% of the embryos over-expressing POSHScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU display dorsal closure defects.

Over-expression of POSHScer\UAS.cSa in the eye using Scer\GAL4GMR.PU results in a rough-eye phenotype.

Over-expression of POSHScer\UAS.cSa in the whole body driven by Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU or Scer\GAL4tub.PU causes early stage lethality. Most of the animals die at the embryonic stage and only a few can survive to the first or second instar larval stage.

Adherens junctions along the boundaries of leading edge cells of the migrating embryonic epidermis and the amnioserosa in embryos overexpressing POSHScer\UAS.cSa driven by Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU show abnormal patterns.

Expression of POSHScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF induces a rough-eye phenotype.

When POSHScer\UAS.cSa is driven by Scer\GAL4Appl.G1a, an extended longevity phenotype is seen. Mean longevity at 25oC is about 49.4 days (compared to 43.4 days for controls).

Flies overexpressing POSHScer\UAS.cSa and egrScer\UAS.cMa in the developing eye (both under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF) exhibit larger eyes than those expressing egrScer\UAS.cMa alone. In addition, these double mutants exhibit a highly deformed eye structure. These phenotypes are reverted with a single copy of POSH74 (that reduces the level of POSH).

Eye size in POSHScer\UAS.cSa egrScer\UAS.cMa (Scer\GAL4GMR.PF overexpression mutants is reduced in an Akt11 heterozygous background.

Eye size in POSHScer\UAS.cSa egrScer\UAS.cMa (Scer\GAL4GMR.PF overexpression mutants is reduced upon co-expression of PtenScer\UAS.cHa.

The eye size increase observed in POSHScer\UAS.cSa egrScer\UAS.cMa (Scer\GAL4GMR.PF overexpression mutants is enhanced upon co-expression of Akt1Scer\UAS.cSa.

Co-expression of RelGS20403 together with POSHScer\UAS.cSa and egrScer\UAS.cMa in the developing eye under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in very large eyes (i.e. enhances the phenotype).

hepr75/+ is unable to suppress the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237>POSHScer\UAS.cSa lethality phenotype.

bsk2/+ is unable to suppress the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237>POSHScer\UAS.cSa lethality phenotype.

Tak1unspecified/+ partially suppresses the lethal dorsal open phenotype of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237>POSHScer\UAS.cSa. Escapees survive to adulthood with thorax defects.

Overexpression of POSHScer\UAS.cSa can suppress the small-eye phenotype of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU>egrScer\UAS.cIa, although a rough-eye phenotype is still observed.

Co-expression of POSHScer\UAS.cSa and Alg-2Scer\UAS.cTa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in small eyes.

Co-expression of POSHScer\UAS.cSa and ALiXScer\UAS.cTa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF enhances the eye phenotype induced by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF-driven expression of ALiXScer\UAS.cTa alone, increasing the level of melanotic pigments but not affecting eye size.

Comments

Over-expression of POSHScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 fails to rescue the lethality and morphological defects in POSHk15815 and POSHp92 mutants.
