Detailed Description

Mosaic stage 10 RalaPG69 oocytes show a complete lack of border cell migration.

Mosaic RalaPG69 clones where the outer border cells are mutant but the two polar cells are wildtype show normal formation of the border cell cluster, and normal border cell migration.

When one of two polar cells is mutant for RalaPG69, a reduced number of border cells are seen in the cluster, and it does not migrate.

When both of the polar cells are mutant for RalaPG69, almost no outer border cells are recruited.

Some polar cells, but not other mutant follicle cells, show increased cell death when homozygous mutant for RalaPG69.

Adult hemizygous males die during embryogenesis from stage 13 through the first-instar larval stage.

Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

RalaPG69 dominantly suppresses the rough eye phenotype of lqfFDD9 homozygotes, with a greater proportion of ommatidia containing the normal number of photoreceptor cells in the double mutant flies.

Expression of JraDN.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Rala-PG69 rescues RalaPG69 hemizygous males to the pharate adult stage.
