The structure of the nephrocyte diaphragms of the garland cell nephrocytes are abnormal (when analysed by TEM) in larvae expressing snsmIg4.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4sns.PK in a snsZF1.4/snsZF1.4 background.

The structure of the nephrocyte diaphragms of the garland cell nephrocytes are abnormal (when analysed by TEM) in larvae expressing snsmIg6.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4sns.PK in a snsZF1.4/snsZF1.4 background.

The extent of myoblast fusion in snsZF1.4 embryos is significantly reduced compared to wild type.

The palisade of circular visceral muscle founder cells is distinctly separated from the adjacent population of fusion-competent cells in stage 13 mutant embryos, in contrast to wild type where they are closely apposed.

Scer\GAL4sns.PK-mediated expression of hbs::snsScer\UAS.SETHC.T:Ivir\HA1, hbs::snsScer\UAS.SEHTC.T:Ivir\HA1 or hbsScer\UAS.cSa.T:Ivir\HA1 partially rescues the snsZF1.4 myoblast fusion phenotype.

Expression of Fas1::snsGPI.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B fails to rescue the mutant phenotype of snsZF1.4/snsXB3 embryos. Fusion competent myoblasts do not appear to migrate towards the founder cells in these embryos.
