eye | somatic clone, with Scer\GAL4GMR.PF
Clonal expression of a single copy of snsScer\UAS.cGa in an isolated cell (under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF) does not affect cell-cell contact.
Expression of two copies of snsScer\UAS.cGa in an isolated cell (under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF) results in 52% of target cells becoming fully separated from ommatidia. Low levels of sns (i.e. one copy of snsScer\UAS.cGa) does not significantly alter the sorting behaviour of the target cells, moderate levels lead to partial segregation, and high levels lead to fully segregated inter-ommatidial cells.
Expression of snsScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4447.2 results in defects in embryonic garland cells; foot process morphology is abnormal and there is a marked thickening of diaphragm filaments.
Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, snsUAS.cGa has abnormal cell adhesion | somatic clone phenotype, enhanceable by hbsUAS.cDa/Scer\GAL4GMR.PF
snsUAS.cGa/Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is an enhancer of abnormal cell adhesion | somatic clone phenotype of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, hbsUAS.cDa
Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, snsUAS.cGa has eye | somatic clone phenotype, enhanceable by hbsUAS.cDa/Scer\GAL4GMR.PF

Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, snsUAS.cGa has interommatidial precursor cell | somatic clone phenotype, enhanceable by hbsUAS.cDa/Scer\GAL4GMR.PF
snsUAS.cGa/Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is an enhancer of eye | somatic clone phenotype of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, hbsUAS.cDa
snsUAS.cGa/Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is an enhancer of ommatidium | somatic clone phenotype of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, hbsUAS.cDa
snsUAS.cGa/Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is an enhancer of interommatidial cell | somatic clone phenotype of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, hbsUAS.cDa
snsUAS.cGa/Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is an enhancer of interommatidial precursor cell | somatic clone phenotype of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, hbsUAS.cDa
Clonal expression of both hbsScer\UAS.cDa and snsScer\UAS.cGa within a single inter-ommatidial cell leads to a newly emergent, striking phenotype: 41% of hbs/sns-targeted inter-ommatidial cells are fully separated from ommatidia with neighboring inter-ommatidial cells intercalated around all sides of the cell. Surrounding inter-ommatidial cells maintain small interfaces with each other but larger interfaces with the hbs/sns-targeted cell.
Expression of snsScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B rescues myoblast fusion in snsZF1.4/snsXB3 embryos and these animals develop into viable adults.
