There is a complete loss of male viability in homozygous mutants where expression of msl-1Δ84.T:Zzzz\FLAG in induced by heatshock. There is a partial loss of male viability (about 2/5 of expected males survive) in heterozygous mutants where expression of msl-1Δ84.T:Zzzz\FLAG in induced by milder heatshock. The addition of msl-1γ269 has no significant affect on the loss of male viability. The addition of msl-2Hsp83.PK suppresses the male viability phenotype seen in heatshocked msl-1Δ84.T:Zzzz\FLAG flies.
